Manager, Training & Organizational Development
(posted 8/4/10)

A client of mine in Western Washington state has engaged me to help them staff a newly-created position for a Manager, Training & Organizational Development – reporting to the head of Human Resources. While the industry is paper and packaging, it is not required that someone have this industry experience, as long as they have manufacturing experience as an employee and manager in this function – preferably within a unionized environment.

This is not a standard or conventional stand-up / facilitation of training role.  Instead, this is a unique and very exciting opportunity for someone with the right skill-set, experience, and interest in designing, managing and delivering a training strategy and curriculum on a company-wide scale.

We are seeking someone who is strategic and has held leadership roles in training / OD as an employee and manager. This position will require someone who clearly understands how to use structured analysis to develop training programs and who is up-to-date on current training tools and techniques – experience with 360 degree feedback and other assessment tools, as well as experience with Six-Sigma.  This will require experience (in conducting) and knowledge of gap analysis, skill assessment and applicable methodologies in the design / development of best-in-class training for a diverse audience.  This position is located in Western, Washington state with the expectation that at least 30% of the time will be spent traveling to the company’s seven (7) plant locations on the West Coast (WA, OR, CA, UT, ID).

If this sounds like a good fit and of interest to you - please let me know.
